It took us 18 months to reach this point: It was time for the final prep.
After packing what we presumed to be enough clothes for the next 6 months abroad, there were a few last-minute items that failed to cross our minds. As our final days in the U.S. drew near, we realized we had totally overlooked accessories.
Was I really about to travel to Europe without a single necklace or scarf? Was Guil really going to traverse the globe without sunglasses? How would we keep up with time while straddling different time zones without a decent watch?
That’s when the universe gifted us with an opportunity to partner with JORD, a unique watch company that focuses on creating hand-crafted, wooden timepieces fit for travelers and creatives alike.
Everything about their mantra appealed to us, “We make our watches for people who don’t just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go.”
Oh boy, did we have somewhere to go.
Packing for a long-term backpacking trip meant a whole lot of dull outfit pieces that could be mixed-and-matched, and inconspicuously repeated over the next several months.
We realized accessories could spruce up our simple travel wardrobe, and JORD’s wooden watches did the trick. The brand has perfected the mix between modern and vintage; both men’s and women’s watches add a tinge of elegance to the most basic outfit.
It’s nice to have a pleasant reminder on your wrist of time well-spent. These next few months will be nothing short of pure adventure and exploration, a time of discovering new places while finding ourselves.
Cheers to making that time count.
We loved our watches so much that we’ve partnered with JORD for a giveaway!
Enter here for a chance to win a $100 gift code to use on the JORD site. While only one lucky person will win, everyone who enters will receive a $25 credit once the contest ends.
The giveaway closes Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. Both the $100 and the $25 codes will expire on December 31.
*While we did not receive financial compensation for this post, we did receive our JORD watches at no cost. All opinions are our own.
